Install Coordinator

PRIMARY COLOR SYSTEMS wishes to invite all qualified and experienced installations coordinators to apply for a coveted position within our ranks. We are looking for a highly organized, detail oriented and motivated individual with a proven track record to become a integral part of our installation team.

The primary function of this position is to understand the full scope of any given project, clients expectations, available resources, necessary assets, and personnel requirements to successfully coordinate the various tasks required to deliver completed projects within schedule. The Installations Coordinator must be able to disseminate information accurately and efficiently across several internal departments as well as outside vendors.

Skill set requirements:

  1. Highly organized
  2. Proficient with all office applications, e.g. word, excel, etc.
  3. Professional written and oral communication skills
  4. Able to maintain and prioritize schedules
  5. Work with deadlines

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Schedule residential and commercial installations upon receiving work orders.
  2. Coordinate subcontractors when needed and rentals for installations.
  3. Communicate regularly with clients during the course of the installation.
  4. Call for rental pickups when technician has completed work associated with the rental company.
  5. Supply installation teams all necessary information; client contact, project specifications, and all relevant information as directed by the department manager.
  6. Work directly with installation teams to maintain accurate job status updates.
  7. Work with Purchasing Department to coordinate any necessary ordering of parts for installations.
  8. Process work orders for our largest customer accounts in the work order building software.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Installations Manager.
  10. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with Primary Color internal/external customers (including, but not limited to: current customers, prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, supervisors and management).
  11. Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as be in compliance with company policy and procedures as it relates to their job function.
  12. When appropriate, inform customers of Primary Color services and products and refer business to appropriate department.
  13. As this position develops, the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.

Experience preferred:

  1. At least three years of coordinating experience.

AutoCad Draftsman

Our highly specialized Fabrication Division creates displays and structures for retail, advertisement, exhibitions and tradeshows. We are seeking an exceptionally- driven candidate to become an integral part within our team of professionals. The ability to discern and complete tasks with foresight in a continually changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and competence is critical.

Skill set requirements:

  1. Proficient in AutoCAD (3D, 2D, rendering);
  2. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  3. Ability to understand sketches and blueprints
  4. Knowledge of Solidworks, Maya and Sketchup desired
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Understand the complexities of working with 3-dimensional shapes

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Construction of low-to-high complexity 3D models for concept presentation, material estimate, production specs and setup instructions
  2. Production of blueprints for in-house and outsourced production, following company standards
  3. Creation of templates for artwork layout and CNC cutting
  4. Interacting with other departments at all levels
  5. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines
    Excellent communication skills

Experience preferred:

  1. 2-year experience on the field is preferred, but will train the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for Design/Architecture/Engineering  students who need experience.

Digital Press Operator

Our El Segundo plant is home to the HP Indigo 7600 digital press. Our team is highly trained and focused on operating the press at optimal levels around the clock. Only the most detailed oriented and polished operators need apply for this opportunity. You must be HP Level 2 maintenance trained to be considered.

Skill set requirements:

  1. Understands and utilizes common hand tools, good manual dexterity
  2. Willingness to learn and inquisitive nature
  3. Procedure oriented and methodical
  4. Highly detailed oriented

Core Competencies:

  1. Excellent visual discrimination, a natural eye for quality assurance and ability to visualize colors, including the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
  2. Mechanical aptitude and skills to perform technical adjustments and maintenance of the digital press
  3. Able to follow and understand directions clearly
  4. Must be able to work independently and with the team cohesively

Equipment Dependability – Our press operator who exhibits many of the characteristics that follow will positively influence press reliability by:

  1. Performing routine maintenance, on schedule and according to procedure—this is essential to promote machine stability and dependability.
  2. Performing adjustments accurately, efficiently and according to procedure—minimizing unexpected downtime and maintenance calls.
  3. Monitoring the printing process to maintain print quality—lost productivity and wasted consumables are often attributed to output problems that go unnoticed.

Mac Assembly / Color Retouching Operator

  4. High productivity against flexible schedules and accelerated time frames
  5. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
  6. Above average organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail
  7. Imposition and Press lay-out experience preferred (Litho specific)

Education and Experience:

  1. College degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts a plus
  2. 5+ years of experience in the printing industry or related field

Software knowledge:

Variable Data Technician

The Variable Data Technician and Jr. Programmer will be responsible for creating reusable configurations for variable imaging in direct marketing products and complex custom mailings for both on-line and off-line jobs. This position will work closely with Print Production teams, Information Technology groups and Client Services teams to ensure the configuration accurately meets client requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs digital page layout and image manipulation functions, including masking, trapping, color correction, closing, gradients, assembly, etc., using several desktop software applications, including Adobe CS Suites, HP Designer, Kodak Prinergy, CSS, JQerry,etc.
  2.  Performs electronic file operations including preflighting, prepress, color correction, color management, downloading  and archiving
  3.  Work from documented requirements to configure variable template files including print-on-demand products,
    direct mail and HTML campaigns
  4.  Establish integrated workflow with traditional and digital production equipment
  5.  Set up reusable libraries; data, scripts and image
  6.  Maintain and support previously built automation tickets and workflows; XML, JDF and Custom
  7.  Program all logic relating to layout and presentation
  8.  Implement all variables within the design layout
  9.  Connect data and asset inputs to automated workflows
  10.  Set up complex, dynamic text flow layouts to accommodate a wide range of variability
  11.  Work with internal stakeholders to ensure a quality product that meets expectation
  12.  Structure configurations logically for re-use and ability for others to understand
  13.  Effectively transfer knowledge of file set ups to other Data Processing resources

Minimum Experience

  1. 2+ years recent experience working with online storefronts.  2+ years working with variable data and imaging technologies. 4+ years experience in prepress for Litho, Large Format and Digital Print production.

Additional Requirements

  1. Strong sense of quality assurance principles, understanding of potential process failure points and the ability to mitigate quality risks.  Strong understanding of version control and data integrity principles.  Strong oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical people (including clients).  Strong attention to detail is a must.  Strong time management and organization skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.  High level of professionalism.
