Trade Shows Are Happening Around the World

As a producer of graphics and displays to the trade show industry, we absolutely can’t wait to see the industry thrive again. And although over the past 6 months it has been hard to hear the news of show after show being cancelled, we felt it would be good to shed some light on the shows that have happened.

When hearing about all these shows, it is great to hear that they are happening for one, but more importantly that they are happening with strict safety measures in place. The GBAC Star Accreditation Program was launched to ensure venues are following strict health and safety standards. And we keep hearing the good news that more and more venues are receiving their GBAC Star Facility Accreditation.

Back in May we begun to see the first ray of light, as the Hunan Auto Show drew more than 62,000 attendees. With very strict safety standards in place at the show, this allowed China to begin to get back to business as usual.

In June, we began to see shows in the US happen. Shows that were held at the Dallas Market Center, started up again. The Apparel & Accessories Market and Kids World Market shows were the first held and attendance reached more than 85 percent of the previous year.

The Together Again Expo happened at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, bringing together 1,400 live industry professionals and 250 exhibitors to learn how to move forward with safe shows.

In July we heard the good news that another auto show happened in China, The China Changchun International Automobile Expo. Since then, several more trade shows have happened in China.

In Alberta, Canada, they announced that indoor exhibits and trade shows would be allowed to reopen as of July 17th. The government of Alberta released plans which includes steps and procedures for trade shows to open safely.

Good news has recently come from Indianapolis which has seen a surge of live events. With the reopening of Indiana Convention Center, the city successfully hosted 18 meetings and events with a total of more than 40,000 attendees.

And in Europe, the first French and German trade show since the lockdown happened in Cannes for the Heavent Meetings and in Düsseldorf for the CARAVAN SALON show.

We know it will take some time for the big shows to resume again, but with the shows above happening, we are excited to see some light in the trade show tunnel.

In the meantime, if there is anything we can do to help with your existing booth properties, whether it be updating graphics or staging your booth to ensure it is good to go for the next show, please let us know, we’d be happy to help!
